Dr. Katsidzira is consultant physician and gastroenterologist at the University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences and Parirenyatwa Central Hospital in Harare, Zimbabwe. He did his undergraduate and post-graduate clinical training at the University of Zimbabwe and trained in gastroenterology at the University of Cape Town and Groote Schuur hospital in South Africa.
He runs the gastroenterology service at Parirenyatwa hospital and covers general medicine at the same hospital on a rotational basis. His main research interests are in gastrointestinal malignancies among Africans.
He has published on the drivers of colorectal cancer in Africa, including genetics, and the role of the gut microbiota.
He has established an inflammatory bowel disease registry in Zimbabwe and has active research projects on hepatitis B and C in this population.
