Prof. James Hakim is the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences in Harare and has been on the faculty of the University of Zimbabwe since 1992. He is an Internal Medicine specialist and a clinical epidemiologist at the University.
He has worked collaboratively with colleagues at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Centre and University of California, San Francisco to establish an AIDS research and care program in Zimbabwe over the past 6 years.
His research interests in HIV/AIDS include antiretroviral therapy, prevention, opportunistic infections and long term complications of HIV/AIDS.
