Prof. Lore is a Kenyan medical institute administrator. He was a World Health Organization fellow in cardiology at Gothenburg University, Sweden, 1981-1982; World Health Organization fellow in cardiovascular epidemiology, Hartenark, The Netherlands, 1986 and in Ndola, Zambia, 1986 and British Council fellow in cardiology, Edinburgh, 1987. He served as an intern at New Mulago Hospital, Kampala, was a resident in internal medicine, Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi, Kenya and a postgraduate student and Registrar in Edinburgh and Glasgow (Scotland). 

Prof. Lore became a Lecturer (and then Senior Lecturer) in Internal Medicine at the University of Nairobi in 1977; was Associate Professor and then Professor of Medicine at Moi University, (Kenya), from 1989-1995; chief executive and director, Institute of Health Research and Health Superior vena cava syndrome, Nairobi, since 1996. He served as a Consultant physician Kenyatta National Hospital, 1977-90, Moi University Teaching Hospital, 1990-1995; consultant physician/ethicist Kenya Medical Research Institute, Nairobi, 1985-1990.

He has served on the International College of Angiology, the American College of Angiology, as a Member and Chairman of the Kenya Medical Association, on the Kenya National Committee for Prevention of Alcoholism and Drug Dependency (chairman since 1988), the Kenya Association of Physicians and Rotary.
